Are you planning your trip to Athens with a minimum stay of 3 days at least? Are you an avid history and mythology lover and plan to visit as many archaeological sites as possible besides the Acropolis? Then the Athens Combined Ticket or 'Combo' as it is called is the most convenient and cost-effective option for you. The Combo is valid for five days from the day of purchase and it allows you to enter the following significant archaeological sites: The Acropolis (covering both the north and the south slope entrances), the Ancient Agora and its museum, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds, the Lyceum (School) of Aristotle, the Ancient Cemetary of Kerameikos, the Libray of (Emperor) Hadrian, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Not bad, right? All you have to remember is that you cannot enter the same site twice, and that the specific ticket has no further discounts (as of July 2019). By using the Combo you certainly avoid long queues and of course, if you choose to book a tour with us, you also avoid the admission queues, since organized group tours (or private ones) have priority entrance to the archeological sites.
Important information details about the Athens Combined Ticket:
- The price of the Combo is thirty euros (30€) and no further discounts apply as of July 2019 (i.e. for students, seniors or children).
- With a Combo Ticket pruchased online, there is no need to queue at the ticket office, but you will need to queue for admission if you are not part of a group tour.
- You can get your ticket online but remember that it lasts for five days from the date of purchase, and that you cannot enter the same site twice.
- Prices go down during the winter months, so the Combo is not exactly value for money in the winter, unless you plan to visit more than seven separate archeological sites.
- There is free entrance to all archaeological sites, monuments, and museums in Athens on March 6 (Melina Mercouri Remembrance Day), April 18 (International Monuments Day), May 18 (International Museums Day), the last weekend in September (European Heritage Days), October 28 (National Holiday), and every first Sunday from November 1st to March 31st.
- All archeological sites remain closed on the following dates: 1 January, 25 March, Easter Sunday, 1 May, and December 25-26.
- During your visit to the archaeological sites, especially during the hot summer months, you should wear comfortable shoes, a hat, and of course, sunscreen. Moreover, carrying a bottle of water and a small energy snack with you is always a good idea, and sometimes a real life saver (i.e. during a heat wave).
Whether you are planning to book a Combo or not, just bear in mind that we can purchase your tickets in advance without any extra charge. We offer the 'skip the line' service to all our guests by purchasing their tickets in advance and distributing them just before the tour starts. Therefore, if you need a combined ticket, all you have to do is drop us a line when you book the tour and we will certainly take care of the rest. Remember that Athens is not only the Acropolis, so the Combo is a fantastic way to explore some of what the city has to offer monument-wise. If you have the time, the Combo definitely worths it.
