Travel information to Greece during Covid-19

Despite the fact that vaccinations proceed satisfactorily, Covid-19 is still here, and that is why there are health protocols still in effect for the protection of travelers over the age of 5. Therefore, we have outlined for you certain key facts you need to be aware of before your arrival and of course, during your stay.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced the new flight instructions with the conditions of entry into Greece to limit the spread of COVID-19 disease

From 15 March 2022 onwards, travelers visiting Greece are no longer required to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF). Additionally, as of Sunday 01 May 2022, and for as long as the epidemiological data allow so, all travelers arriving in Greece, regardless of their country of origin, are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or evidence of a negative test result from SARS-CoV-2 infection (PCR or Rapid Antigen test).

A simplified PLF remains in operation, the completion of which is OPTIONAL, for the sole purpose of enabling the traveler/family to issue an EU Certificate of the negative or positive COVID-19 test result. The official portal of the Hellenic Republic to complete the simplified PLF is travel.gov.gr.

During your stay

You will be required to wear a mask in:
- shops
- restaurants, cafes, bars, etc (except when you are seated)
- museums, indoors and outdoors, and archaeological sites
- crowded outdoor areas
Service inside restaurants, cafes, and bars is permitted to all. Customers waiting for a table must wear a mask.
Depending on a shop's spatial capacity (maximum number of customers within the shop), you might be asked to wait before you enter.
Public transportation (buses, metro, taxis) is allowed, always with the use of masks.
You will be able to travel interstate freely.
Always remember that if you feel unwell and develop fever or other symptoms relevant to Covid-19, such as shortness of breath, cough, etc., you must seek medical attention immediately and contact the National Health Organization (Local emergency number 1135).
If you have to be tested within the country, please note that the cost for Covid-19 PCR tests is 60 euros, and for rapid tests is 10-15 euros.

For your own protection and the protection of other people around you, please remember to always wear a non-medical mask in public spaces (indoors and outdoors), keep social distancing rules of 1.5 m as much as possible, and use antiseptics or wash your hands thoroughly with soap.
